Background
Enables calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase activity. Involved in several processes, including protein autophosphorylation; regulation of protein localization to plasma membrane; and response to hypoxia. Is active in glutamatergic synapse and postsynaptic cytosol. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autosomal dominant intellectual developmental disorder. Orthologous to human CAMK2G (calcium/calmodulin dependent protein kinase II gamma).
