Involved in several processes, including TORC2 signaling; regulation of signal transduction; and response to insulin. Acts upstream of or within regulation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B signal transduction. Part of TORC2 complex. Is expressed in brain; cortical plate; and embryo. Orthologous to human SESN3 (sestrin 3).
