Background
Enables glycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to insulin stimulus; glycerolipid biosynthetic process; and positive regulation of triglyceride biosynthetic process. Located in mitochondrial outer membrane. Biomarker of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease; nephrotic syndrome; and obesity. Orthologous to human GPAM (glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase, mitochondrial).
