Enables calcium channel inhibitor activity and zinc:proton antiporter activity. Involved in several processes, including detoxification of cadmium ion; metal ion transport; and regulation of postsynapse organization. Acts upstream of or within zinc ion transport. Located in T-tubule; dendrite; and postsynaptic density. Is active in Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse and postsynaptic density membrane. Orthologous to human SLC30A1 (solute carrier family 30 member 1).
