5-Methyl-CTP (5-Methylcytidine-5'-Triphosphate) is a modified nucleoside triphosphate used to confer desirable properties to in vitro transcribed RNA, including enhanced nuclease stability, increased translational efficiency, and reduced recognition by innate immune receptors. Recent studies have shown that 5-Methyl-CTP, along with Pseudo-UTP and N1-Methylpseudo-UTP, reduces innate immune stimulation both in cell culture and in vivo, while simultaneously enhancing translation.
