Poly(A), also known as Polyadenylic acid, is a stretch of RNA made strictly of adenine bases (AMPs) added to the 3' end of eukaryotic messenger RNA (mRNA). It acts as a protective cap that prevents the mRNA from being degraded by enzymes and helps transport the molecule out of the nucleus for protein translation.
